Spring is in the air! And that means Easter isn't far behind. Our team at Great Pretenders wants to share a few fun recipes that you can make with your little ones!

Brownie Carrot Patch

Here are the supplies that you will need:

  • Small glass
  • Icing bag with frosting tip
  • A box of brownie mix
  • Orange frosting
  • Edible grass

  1. Bake the brownies according to the recipe desired
  2. Let the brownies cool completely
  3. Crumble the brownies to make "soil"
  4. Scoop the brownies into a cup
  5. Pipe a small amount of frosting on top of the brownie
  6. Add a few pieces of edible grass on top of the frosting to make it look like a carrot

Bunny Pancake Breakfast

Here are the supplies that you will need:

  • 1 whole banana
  • 2 homemade pancakes
  • 4 whole blueberries
  • 2 fresh raspberries
  • 1 slice of apple
  • 6 slivered almonds

  1. Place your prepared pancake on a plate, towards the bottom.
  2. Peel your banana and slice it in half. Then slice your half in half again leaving two thin slices. Place these banana halves on top of your pancake to make bunny ears.
  3. Place two blueberries on the pancake for the eyes, a red raspberry nose, and three slivered almonds for the mouth.
  4. Finally, slice your piece of apple into six thin slices for each bunny. Place these thin slices beside the raspberry nose for bunny whiskers.

 Chocolate Covered Carrot Strawberries

Here are the supplies that you will need:

  • White Chocolate
  • Strawberries
  • Orange food coloring

  1. Microwave the white chocolate in a bowl, stirring halfway through, for about one minute.
  2. Stir in orange food coloring, a couple drops at a time, until you get the desired color.
  3. Dip strawberries in the melted chocolate and place on a piece of parchment paper.
  4. Using a wooden toothpick, create a few lines on strawberries to resemble a carrot, then cool completely.

  Rice Krispie Nests

Here are the supplies that you will need:

  • 3 tbsp. of butter
  • 1 bag of marshmallows
  • 6 cups of Rice Krispies
  • Edible grass
  • Robins egg candies

  1. Melt the butter over medium heat and stir in the marshmallows. Continue stirring until completely melted. Pour the mixture over the Rice Krispies cereal and stir until well combined.
  2. Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray and shape the nests.
  3. Let the Rice Krispies cool in the pan, pull them out, and decorate!
  4. Break up the edible grass and place it in the nest with the eggs.
